Would you say you're the kind of person that is allergic to just hearing the word "Squat"? Or are you jumping  up for joy excited to get your Squat on? No matter which kind of "squatter" you are, you should know the ideal squat will look different on each individual and at different times of their life. Some people view squats as the ultimate booty lifter and strengthener. While some look at it as an insurance policy to make sure they can continue to get on and off the toilet, without calling for help. Whichever reason you choose to show up and squat, I get it is a personal decision. My New Favorite Workout Format

My New Favorite  Workout Format   Pop the sound on to hear the super easy instructions of how to plug and play your 2 exercises of choice. Super excited about this new training format I’ve been playing with! It’s SO SIMPLE but holy cow it works really well! This is a 20 Minute work out and you’re resting most of the time. Don’t get too cocky though… It creeps up on you and it’s super effective. Every Minute on The Minute you will alternate between doing 3 reps of your super challenging exercise and then for the next minute perform 3 reps of your easier to medium exercise. You will do this every minute on the minute for 20 minutes. I chose 3 False Grip Pull Ups and alternated that with 3 Double Kettlebell Front Squats. A few ideas for you Push Ups & Double Kettlebell Deadlifts Pull Ups & Goblet Squats Double Kettlebell Presses & Split Squats (will take up more time) Even if you can’t get 3 reps of your challenging exercise by the end, keep going and do 1 or 2 if you

A Deadly Car Accident Turns Into a Miraculous Recovery

Care flighted to a Trauma One Hospital where Dionne, highlighted member of Lauren's Playground, was in a horrific deadly car accident. They are lucky to be alive. Please read her story and if you feel at all compelled, here is a GoFundMe page set up to help her with expenses.  Hi Lauren, My spouse and I had flown to AZ to visit her mother on 9/2. We were there less than an hour when we got T-boned by a truck that ran a red ligh t.  Luckily, all of us survived. I've attached pictures just so you can see how amazing that is.   I was care flighted to a Trauma One Hospital and spent 6 days in ICU and 9 days on the Ortho floor recovering. I had a l acerated spleen, liver, and pancreas; fractured L4 disc; and, multiple broken ribs . They did emergency surgery to fix the lacerations when I first got there. While I was there I had to have another procedure to put a Stent in my pancreas because it was leaking enzymes . I still will have to have another procedure to get that removed.

52 yrs old and is Stronger Now Than Ever Before

Meet 52 yr old, Dionne, and member of Lauren’s Playground ! Dionne is 52 in 2 days and feels stronger than she ever has in her whole life. She started liking training again, after hating it during her basketball days, when she went to grad school and took up running and weights.  Dione says: “My main focus had always been cardio up to this point. I completed two half marathons & then decided never again. I wanted to move on to challenging myself to get strong & lean, not just lean. Training Smarter versus Harder

Just pondering on how lucky I feel to have found “smart” training, versus “hard” training. My body, along with most of my clients bodies, have responded VERY well… to the point that people stop them all the time and ask them how they look so strong and young! Yeah none of us have to kill ourselves in our sessions. In fact half the time we don’t even get sore. We have energy all day for the rest of the stuff we need to handle in life.  In all honesty  I don’t do “cardio”. I don’t track my food. I train in a Zen mode a few times a week and have a very minimalistic approach. Like VERY minimal!  I do put sleep as a priority in my life which is a big part of how one responds.  People assume I workout all day long. When in fact I barely train.  My days are spent training others, designing programs, raising kids, keeping a house hold together, and taking care of my 400+ members in Lauren’s Playground and On The Edge Fitness. I also now have time for friend meet ups, fun activities, and creati
