SINGLE LEG DEADLIFT BASICS

Before I head out to my MELT Instructor training I felt the need to go over the Single Leg Deadlift. I admit it has a bad rap at times. When done incorrectly with load that you're not ready for, it's one of the easiest lifts to hurt yourself with. So I get it! But when done beautifully, it's the best butt lifter, butt strengthener and butt tightener in the entire arsenal of lifts IMO. # The beauty of this lift is you can still feel the glute power without bells. Practice this lift with zero bells first. Get the movement pattern down! Then begin to hold the bottom deep hinge position for 5-10 seconds each reps. Even without bells you'll feel your lovely rear chime in!  # This is one of the exercise I'll be getting very deep in to during my upcoming workshop. We also cover this quite extensively in Lauren's Playground classes.  # I've gotten the most uncoordinated students to be able to master this wonderful lift. Give it a try with your body weight even holding on to something. Or try and take this lovely lift to a deeper level #sundayfunday #laurensplayground #laurenbrooksfitness #kettlebellworkouts #kettlebells #fitness #buttbuilder #glutes

KETTLEBELL CLEAN BASICS

The infamous Kettlebell Clean. I've demonstrated painfully some of the most common mistakes you'll see for this somewhat technical exercise. 😫 # You'll see the proper clean broken down a few times 😬😊 which should be able to help guide you very well! # If any of the incorrect cleans look familiar to you, really slow it down and begin with finding the rack position. The place where the bell ends up. Get comfortable with it. Walk around with the bell. You should be able to wiggle your fingers and feel comfortable. I always recommend starting from the top and working backwards. # For more detailed instruction check out my YouTube page kbellqueen and join Lauren's Playground online gym. What Doctor's don't tell you after a C-section

I have now been through 2 C-sections since writing this blog post and thankfully I've recovered beautifully from both with the appropriate progressions. For those who are new and are just finding me. WELCOME! First let me say I did NOT want a C-section. I did everything in my power to avoid the first and even the second. I'm a kettlebell fitness strength and conditioning coach who relies on her body to share, teach, educate, and I was under the impression that having to give birth via C-section would and could destroy my body and career. Boy was I wrong! If you're feeing the same way, start by reading this article I wrote many years ago that still applies today! Many people have asked and here is part of my experience.  I don't claim to be a medical expert but not only have I successfully healed my C-section, my abdominals are no longer numb, and I've successfully helped others who've had multiple C-sections (even some 20 years ago) find their core aga
