GIVEAWAY and Product Review for KIND Healthy Snacks

Several weeks ago I was contacted by KIND Healthy Snacks.  They asked me if I had ever tried their bars.  I was excited because this is one of the few bars I like to travel with or keep in my purse for an emergency snack.  In fact, this is normally an item on the shopping list that I give to my nutrition clients. They informed me that they had come out with many new flavors in addition to making an all natural, gluten free granola.  I have always supported KIND because they use all natural products, are low in glycemic, use non GMO ingredients and are gluten free.

Last week they sent me a hefty package of KIND goodies to sample.  When the package arrived I found myself as excited as a little kid in a candy store.  It was perfect timing to receive goodies like this because I was getting ready to leave to teach at the Strong First Girya (SFG) certification in Houston, Texas.  I make sure to always carry snacks with me wherever I go while traveling.  I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this box.  They included a wide variety of interesting flavors of KIND bars and granola. Before I even had a chance to eat try the granola my kids had already ripped the bag open and was eating it with hemp/flax seed milk.  "Yummy mommy!  This is sooo good.  Can you buy this all the time?" said my 6 year old.  Inside the granola was gluten free oats and a multitude of what I consider healthy whole grains such as amaranth, quinoa, millet, buckwheat plus the one they ripped open had chia seeds!!  I was in love with the fact that the granola encompassed ingredients that were also low in sugar and sodium.   It was perfect for my kids!

I reach for bars during the days when I'm traveling or working long hours when I don't healthy options around.  These bars came in handy during my weekend since I needed to keep my energy levels up and didn't want to eat a large lunch.  I have found all the flavors to be really tasty.  If I have to choose a favorite it would be Almond Coconut, Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt, Cashew & Ginger Spice, and .... well honestly I could keep going.

Okay, so here's the low down!  KIND and I are hosting a giveaway right now.  It's only 1 week long.  The giveaway will include a nice goodie package that will consist of two boxes of  2 of your favorite flavors PLUS a bag of Gluten Free Granola.  If you are interested and would like to partake, here are the easy rules on how they can keep track to announce the winner.

My favorite KIND bar has to be the lower sugar bar varities. I LOVE the Almond Walnut Macadamia with Peanuts and Protein. There's only 7g of sugar in it! And a whopping 10g of protein. Since I follow the Zone Diet, it's super important that my macros are correct. Getting the right amount of fats/protein/carbs is uber important. This bar is perfectly balanced.

I was happy to find that they list GMO-free glucose in their ingredients!

This is an awesome giveaway...I was so torn between all the flavors since they sound great but I think Im going to go with the Almond Walnut and Macadamia nut as well. Love the extra protein and lower sugar content. Plus Im an almond fanatic. Ive never tried these bars and would be so excited to be able to test a few out.

Im always on the move too so being able to throw one in my bag before I head out the door would make for a quick and healthy snack.

I would love to sample some KIND bars. For my husband and kindergartener that need healthy convenience foods, this would make a great addition to our packed lunches. The variety I'd like to try most is: DARK CHOCOLATE NUTS & SEA SALT.
Just thinking about it has me salivating!!

I would love to try the
DARK CHOCOLATE NUTS & SEA SALT variety. Even the thought has me salivating. However, they'd most likely be for my husband and kindergartener, who need to have packed lunches. I'd love to have something new and healthy to add to our rotation in their lunch packs!

I was not aware that KIND made Gluten-Free options. With a son allergic to wheat, not gluten particularly, I'm constantly on the lookout for gluten-free but HEALTHY choices for snacks. I will buy these especially to try out for a breakfast option.

I would like to try the **Almond Walnut Macadamia + Protein** bar. I like the amount of protein offered and learned it is made with no High Fructose Corn Syrup. I am working on eliminating this from my family's diet. They are always wanting a snack and I think I would feel good about letting them eat a Kind bar. Thanks for such a great giveaway!

I have not tried these and didn't realize there were so many amazing flavors. I think I'd want to start with the Dark Chocolate, Nuts and Sea Salt. I may have to head to the store later.

I'm thinking the Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt and the Dark Chocolate with Cinnamon Pecans. Sounds sooooo good (yes, I'm hungry). I had no idea they made a granola type product! I love that these bars are made out of "real" food. Perfect!!
I love the lower sugar bars and I would LOVE to try the granola! Yum!

Id like to try many of the flavors but the almon coconut bar sounds really yummy. I always thought granola bars were high calorie and full of sugar so I avoid them, nice to discover a healthy alternative.

I would like to try the Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew with the Antioxidants. They sound really good. I didn't know they had antioxidants in them so this is new. But really any flavor would be good I know. Those large almonds look really good in them.

What Doctor's don't tell you after a C-section

I have now been through 2 C-sections since writing this blog post and thankfully I've recovered beautifully from both with the appropriate progressions. For those who are new and are just finding me. WELCOME! First let me say I did NOT want a C-section. I did everything in my power to avoid the first and even the second. I'm a kettlebell fitness strength and conditioning coach who relies on her body to share, teach, educate, and I was under the impression that having to give birth via C-section would and could destroy my body and career. Boy was I wrong! If you're feeing the same way, start by reading this article I wrote many years ago that still applies today! Many people have asked and here is part of my experience.  I don't claim to be a medical expert but not only have I successfully healed my C-section, my abdominals are no longer numb, and I've successfully helped others who've had multiple C-sections (even some 20 years ago) find their core aga
