Under 12 minute workout

I have been feeling pretty good these past couple days. During the holiday season I am not as busy so I have some more down time.  Even though my baby tends to tire me out, I am feeling rejuvenated! Today I squeezed in two mini workouts.

Morning workout

2 Handed Swings  12kg  1 min
Snatches                 12kg  2 min
Jump Rope                      1 min
Alternating Swings 12kg 1 min
Alternating Snatches 12kg 1 min
Jump Rope                            1 min
Pull ups           3x
Took 1 minute break in between each exercise

Evening workout (my client was running late so I squeezed another one in)

Turkish Get Ups  16kg   2/2
Pull ups                            4x
Pistols            10lb          3/3
Windmills             12kg  4/4

Went through each exercise with minimal rest and repeated 2 times

It's amazing how wonderful the mood and energy picks up even with just these short practice sessions!  I love it!!!

Excellent! Explode in the morning and Grind in the evening. Condensed and intense! (you can use that if you like)

I like that Howie, condensed and intense! I really like 2 short workouts. It's like having a cup of coffee without the caffeine! I may have to do that more often.

Lauren, Like you I'm a new mom and I'm having a harder time losing baby fat this time than I did with my first. I'm a figure competitor and being lean is important to me but its not coming off while nursing (17 pounds still to lose and a ton of bf). This kettlebell training interests me and its not seen here in Colorado. Any ideas on where I can pick some up instead having them sent to me and how to get started learning how to use them?

Shiann,

How long ago did you have your baby? You got to give it at least 3 months since you are nursing. Email me at Lauren@socaltrainer.com and I can try and point you in the right direction to getting you started with kettlebells. You can and will get back to your lean self!
Is jump rope part of your active recovery purpose?

I'm planning something for my class starting January, was woundering what other than kettlebell works I should implement.

Hi Taikei,

With this particular workout it was more of an active recovery. Sometimes it is my cardio though. Jump rope is definitely great to add to kettlebell workouts. It's always nice to change things up a bit.

What Doctor's don't tell you after a C-section

I have now been through 2 C-sections since writing this blog post and thankfully I've recovered beautifully from both with the appropriate progressions. For those who are new and are just finding me. WELCOME! First let me say I did NOT want a C-section. I did everything in my power to avoid the first and even the second. I'm a kettlebell fitness strength and conditioning coach who relies on her body to share, teach, educate, and I was under the impression that having to give birth via C-section would and could destroy my body and career. Boy was I wrong! If you're feeing the same way, start by reading this article I wrote many years ago that still applies today! Many people have asked and here is part of my experience.  I don't claim to be a medical expert but not only have I successfully healed my C-section, my abdominals are no longer numb, and I've successfully helped others who've had multiple C-sections (even some 20 years ago) find their core aga
