Are Kettlebells Right For You?

Do you think Kettlebells really are right for you?  Here's my 2 cents after 2 decades of working with people. 

First off before I dive in to my message today,  I want to deeply thank those who shared their story of racism with me. Whether you are 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧, 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭, 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝, 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭, 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐨𝐥𝐝, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜, 𝐬𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐲, 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐠𝐲𝐦𝐬, 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐲𝐦𝐬, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 - proper Kettlebell training has welcomed each and ever one of these characteristics. 

Kettlebell fitness doesn’t discriminate against race, religion, gender, political views, or the country you live in. 

16 years ago I was warned that this type of training was just a fad and it would phase itself out like everything else. I was told not to invest too much time into it.

I chose not to listen and here’s why. 

Today everyone and their grandma is asking me how to get their hands on a kettlebell. Kettlebells are in such demand they are sold out around the world as people are desperately wanting to use them. 

The results have proven over and over again to be so astounding that after 16 years of sticking to it - and I’ve never stuck to anything in my life this long ( you can ask my mom - lol) - the strength, mobility, body composition, confidence, and community building just keeps getting better and better.

When I implemented this simple training in my students lives, the results and transformative nature was too powerful to ever stop. 

When my students from all walks of life as listed above learned the simple and basic movements in just a few sessions, the light in their eyes turned from unsure to feeling badass! 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐬! 

Nothing can describe the feeling of being able to lift or swing a hunk of iron in such a primal, raw, and beastly type of way. Even my most frail and older students can do it!

They end up shocked at what they’re capable of doing with some simple coaching!

Many end up with tears in their eyes bringing hope back to their lives. 

The power that each person feels during and after each session is undeniably invigorating - even to the person who has always hated “working out”. What results is a a new love of training while feeling 𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞! 

This is why people who try Kettlebell training have stuck with me since the beginning. Yep I have people who’ve been with me over a decade and continue to grow. 

People who were so depressed and going through a major life change that needed a lift in their spirits. The turned that pain in to beautiful strength.

People who suffered from an illness and lost so much weight they ended up weak and frail. Nothing would help them regain their strength and weight until they met kettlebells.

Just this morning a playground student shared with us in the Facebook group how she suffered from Anorexia for years and now at 50 years old she was finally able to get her athletic body back and gain some healthy weight/muscle.
