Even Small Changes in Nutrition Can Make A Big Difference!

Reading about nutrition and educating my clients is a true passion of mine.  I absolutely love designing nutrition plans thanks to the ongoing success that my clients and I have continued to see.  One of the most common phrases I hear from my clients is, "It doesn't even feel like a diet."  That makes me smile because it lets me know that they "get it."  I have collected an array of testimonials that I have not had the chance to share yet.  I will, however, begin by featuring one person at a time.  This month I wanted to highlight a fitness professional that started out on my program already lean and fit, which can sometimes be the most challenging.  She came to me because she wanted to be a little bit more lean.  We discussed that since she was starting with such a low body fat, her body might resist losing any more weight.  It's very common for people to lose a lot of weight in the beginning and then have trouble with the last 5-10 pounds....

5 Months Postpartum update and Sample day of Food

Well here I am again!  It's now been 5 wonderful months with my new baby.  I will admit that getting back in shape this time around is MUCH harder than it was with the first one.  In addition finding the time and energy to do everything with 2 kids has been more of a challenge.  I keep looking ahead and know that I will get to my goals, but have to accept that it's just taking a little longer this time.  Having the second C-section in 2 years does not help either! Since I am constantly hungry, due to the nursing, it's important to have healthy snacks on hand at all times to keep me from gaining weight.  If I don't eat often I get very low blood sugar and even shaky.  I will not be sad this time when its time to stop nursing Chloe, since I'm ready to have a normal appetite again.  I have been asked by many to post what I am eating. Here is a sample of what I eat. It changes daily. There are several extra snacks than normal for me in addit...

Saturday's Practice and Food

Here is yesterdays workout which I think of more of a practice. Warmed up with Joint Mobility 5 minutes and 2 minutes of Swings 12kg Did the following exercises 3 times. Pull Ups 3 , 4 , 3 Pistols 2 , 3, 1 per side Bent Press 12kg 3, 3 , 3 per side C & J 12kg 8, 8 , 6 per side Then I finished off with Snatches for 3 minutes with the 12kg total of 73 snatches. I don't usually train high reps so I was surprised how nice those 3 minutes felt. I paced myself at around 24 snatches a minute. I'm not training for any thing but I wanted to see how I would feel with that length of time. Maybe I'll try 4 minutes today. Morning weight is 108. Been eating 5-6 times a day. Here is what I ate yesterday. Not typical since it's a Saturday and I had time to have some lunch by the beach. Couple of people ask me from time to time if I am eating. I think I eat a good amount of food. I ha...

Eating Clean

I have been much more strict with my eating this week. I already notice a huge difference in how I feel. Some of my staple snacks are green apples and almond butter, grass fed whey protein shake w/ flaxseed oil, hardboiled eggs, and raw nuts. Trying to eliminate simple sugars all together. It can be very tough when you are always hungry and constantly snacking. While breastfeeding you also tend to feel that you never have enough food. I've really been able to track my eating very well with this great online nutrition tracker. It's free to use and very helpful. Thedailyplate.com is what I've been using. I know there are others out there but this one seems to track the foods the easiest with a good amount of detail. My workout yesterday for 3/19 was raised up a couple notches. Already feeling like my strength is coming back. Every thing below were Supersets. I am feeling a bit sore in my legs and upper back. Nothing too bad. 1.Leg Press 90lb 10 x 3 ...
